Crystal Shawn

About the Artist

Crystal Shawn is a designer, photographer and printmaker specializing in graphical patterns paired with typography, most recently awakened with involvement with the Supercharged Printmakers Studio in Northeast Minneapolis. Crystal’s most recent focus has been on botanicals / nature – drawing inspiration from the restorative emotional effects of florals and greenery. Hand-drawn layered organic elements and pops of color are evident in her latest work, to celebrate the energy of Minnesota summers.

As an award-winning full-time Creative Director and Photographer at Framework with 20 years of experience, she has extensive insight into a multitude of industries. She enjoys concepting new campaigns, copywriting, branding, storyboarding, and creating imagery for statewide and national campaigns. She has a passion for both photography and typography, which she has been excitedly working on applying within the printmaking mediums after hours.

When she’s not in the studio or on location at a photoshoot, she loves to travel, spend time in the outdoors, cook, read, write and adventure or collaborate creatively with her Cinematographer husband, Adam.
