Nicole Mueller is a photographer, printmaker, and real estate agent with a passion for the preservation and celebration of modernist architecture. Nicole’s photographs from her Desert Playground series are color-saturated, timeless portraits of the homes that line the streets of Palm Springs’ iconic neighborhoods. Shot at eye level from the road, they seem almost like a view from a window of a neighboring home. Nicole uses vintage film cameras in combination with specialty films to create a sense of intimacy and capture the personalities of each structure. Her screen prints contain elements of her photographs that have been adapted for the screen.
Nicole also enjoys sharing her love of photography and the creative process with others. You’ll find her teaching classes and camps for kids and adults at the Supercharged Printmakers Studio in Northeast Minneapolis, where she is a working member and Events Manager.
As a mom of two young daughters, Nicole is also inspired by the free-flowing expressiveness and whimsical imagery of children’s artwork. She has helped her daughters turn some of their art into super fun t-shirt designs – check out Zelda’s T-Rex Tee in the shop!
